I am a photographer whose work moves between editorial, documentary and commercial practice, grounded in an interest in migration, identity and the everyday, often within the urban contexts of South Asia and the Gulf.
I studied photography and art history in India, Greece and Italy, and began my career in film — creating publicity stills for directors such as Sooni Taraporevala and Mira Nair. Since then, I have worked on commissions for clients including Hermès, Meta, Qatar Airways and Vodafone, as well as editorial assignments, while pursuing long-term personal projects.
Goodbye Padmini reflects on Mumbai’s disappearing taxis and their migrant drivers; Marriages are Made in Heaven Bureaus examines arranged marriage practices in Kerala; Doha Fashion Fridays celebrates migrant worker self-expression through fashion in Qatar.
My work has been published and exhibited internationally and has received distinctions including a win at American Photography 40 and a nomination for the Prix Pictet.
Now based in Abu Dhabi, I continue to explore how photography can function as cultural inquiry and how people find meaning and identity in modern life.
